KATE DALEY NUTRITION

Non-Diet Nutrition Counseling

Welcome! I am so glad you're here!

My experience in collegiate athletics and struggles with disordered eating shaped my career and cultivated my mission to serve athletes and non-athletes with performance, eating, and body image concerns.

Collegiate, professional, master, recreational, or non-athlete, I would love to help you improve your performance and reach your goals without sacrificing your relationship with food.

I practice through a non-diet, weight-inclusive lens and believe no matter who you are, you can reach your goals and improve your relationship with food along the way. I'd be honored to help you get there!

HI, I'M KATE!

MY JOURNEY

From the age of four, I've been involved in sports. From T-ball to weekend ski trips to middle school basketball to finding my love for running, I have always found a home in athletics. My athletic journey was derailed when I developed an eating disorder. Since recovering, I have made it my mission to help others going through similar struggles.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Connecticut. While at UConn, I was highly involved in athletics, competing on the cross-country and track and field teams while also working as a sports nutrition intern under the Director of Sports Nutrition.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

I currently also work as an Associate Sport & Eating Disorder Dietitian at Mind Body Endurance, LLC alongside an awesome interdisciplinary team of fellow dietitians, sports psychologists, and mental health providers!

During my dietetic internship, I worked at EDCare Denver where I gained experience treating high-performing athletes with eating disorders through the Athlete EDGE program. I also have experience working with individuals in eating disorder recovery as a mentor through the Eating Disorder Foundation. Additionally, I am a Nutrition Expert at Voice in Sport™, a platform that advocates for and supports girls and women in sports.

ACADEMICS & RESEARCH

I am currently working on my Master’s in Counseling Psychology at the University of Denver, deepening my knowledge of multiculturalism and social justice issues while also taking classes in the sports psychology department to deepen my understanding of athletes’ mental health. At DU, I am a research assistant in the Bodies, Eating, and Emotions (BEE) Lab where I study weight stigma, trauma, and disordered eating in marginalized populations. I am particularly interested in working with athletes to improve their relationship with food so they can achieve their biggest dreams in sport and life.

MY PHILOSOPHY

I believe food is so much more than the energy it provides. It is social, cultural, emotional, and, above all, should be FUN! I practice through a non-diet, weight-inclusive lens. My passion lies in helping those with *complicated* relationships with food relearn to trust their bodies and find food freedom while continuing to thrive in the sport they love.

In my free time, I enjoy running, baking, writing, skiing with my family, and meeting with friends over coffee!
